Hello! For some time now I have been skating the new Deshi Kicks Bloody Mary. I skated in all Deshi skates which were released so I`m familiar with all the changes and improvements which are introduced by this company.
Since Deshi skates are available only as the ‘boot only’ skates I won`t write about frames or even soulplates. There is no other skate like Deshi which allows you to customize it with so many soulplates options – the skate can be adjusted to your own personal style. By choosing the Deshi skate you can experience the new boot and all your favourite parts like frames, soulplates can remain as you like it from any other skate.
Liner used in this model - Sifika SL 310. It was previously used in Kicks II model. I enjoyed it then, like many other skaters so there is no surprise that it is used now too. When you take off the liner from the skate it looks like any other Sifika products – very well designed with many useful details, like rubber parts preventing from any movement inside the skate. At first you can say that the liner is really thin and no to so comfortable. But you can`t be more wrong. Just put the skate on your feet and you will notice that there is enough support and comfort. It`s not filled up with redundant padding which will fall out in a few months anyway. So we have the liner which is durable and more practical then many other, expensive liners. I can really tell how it will fit other skates but as far as Deshi are concerned they`re perfect!
The boot itself comes with new Kizer shock absorber – great for bigger gaps. The color scheme – fresh balck and red design. When I saw it for the first time on the internet I was a bit sceptical, but as soon as I got the skates and opened the box my first impression gone in a seconds. You should really see it in real to fully appriciate it.
The boot is slightly changed, all ideas introduced in the previous models are now combined here – the skate resembles Deshi Kelso model. But the removable stiffen insert is no longer here, instead the whole cuff area is now reinforced. So you can no longer worry about the damaging the zip at the back of your skate or loosing your inserts during the session. I guess that besides the cuff the whole skeleton is now made a little more stiff – so the skate won`t become floopy after few months at all. Another key change is the removing the kevlar from the toe-area of the skate. Kevlar was very durable but with time it tore up anyway and the front part of the skate became too soft. Well, now the kevlar is gone, I have no idea what kind of material is used instead but it turned out to be pretty good. It gives the skate different look. To give you good support the skate has three elements – the buckle, power strap and of course laces – which will keep your foot in one place. Of course you can experiment with adjusting those to make sure it will suit your skating style.
Using these skates is just pure fun. There is no problem with too much flex. I`m sure that you can get use to them really fast and do all your tricks like in any other skate.
